Stop Being Scared To Share Your Struggle!!!!

#MentalHealthMonday

So here is the deal every time I share my story of OVERCOMING depression someone always asks me, “are you ever concerned that this will damage your credibility?”  And the long answer is NO.
Point. Blank. Period.
Here is why?  I did not build my brand based on perfection nor have I ever marketed myself solely on the premises of being a Ph.D. or some fabulous, rockstar organizational strategist (which I am—if I say so myself).  I built my brand based on my struggle with depression, failing college, being homeless, living in a closet, and hitting rock bottom not ONCE, not TWICE, but THREE times!
I built my brand teaching amazing ThinkUP leaders all across the globe how to transform their thinking, perform daily mind checks, increase their mental stamina, and how to build healthy mental habits.
I built my brand teaching my ThinkUP friends how to slay dysfunction and create a NEW normal in their lives!

So by sharing my story and my struggle is another part of my healing process and my way of reminding you that you have permission to be FREE and to share your STRUGGLE as well!

Because here is the truth, EVERY single one of US is either going through a storm, coming out of one or about to go through one.  So, why would I be scared, ashamed, or embarrassed when WE are all fighting for our lives, our families, our careers, our finances, and OUR MINDS!
Therefore, since I am not scared to share my struggles, valley moments (and days, months, ok…years too), then neither should you.
As professionals, entrepreneurs, and CEOs of our lives, it is OUR responsibility to share our journey and the process of abandoning dysfunction and creating a NEW normal!
So the next time you want to hide your struggle out of fear of someone questioning your credibility, remember this it is your struggle that has given you the strength and the power to be the BOSS leader you are…..so don’t hide it, don’t dim your light, be proud, be bold, and help me on my quest of living in our truths!
Until we chat again….
