How to CREATE more time into your day!
It seems that people are busier now than they have been in the last five years! There are simply not enough hours in the day to get it all done. Whether you are a stay at home parent, a work at home parent or you work outside of the home, I am sure that you could use a few more hours in your day.
Well, let me go ahead and drop the bomb now!!!! Many of us do not have time-management problems, we have self-management problems. What I mean by that, is that “time is constant”, we each get 24 hours a day, no one gets more hours or fewer hours although it may appear that way.
After working with hundreds of thought leaders, what I can tell you that majority of the people want more time to do the things that they enjoy. So instead of focusing on time management, it’s more imperative that focus on self-management so that we can simply CREATE more time in our day-to-day.
So, here are 4 ways to create more time in your day:
1. Get organized!
I can’t stress this enough. This is the first thing that absolutely needs to be done. Review your “Success list” (not things to do list) and organize the things needed to accomplish them, by doing the most important things first.
2. Identify your Peak time.
This is the time of day that you are most effective and most alert. You maybe a morning person or an evening person. I do all of my most difficult tasks when I am fresh in the morning.
If you have small kids at home, like I do—Use your child’s nap time one hour of “TV time” for your kids to do your most difficult tasks.
3. Avoid the big “day wasters” or as I call it “time snatchers”.
Facebook, watching television, web surfing, and taking those random calls to catch up with your bestie are all huge “time snatchers” if not used properly. These are all great things, when used in moderation, but can definitely impair your productivity and before you know it you have lost hours of valuable time. So limit your time in this area.
4. ThinkUP and ATTRACTwhat you desire.
You must ThinkUP. ThinkingUP is simply creating the future that you desire in your mind first. Set your intentions on what you desire more of and not what you are lacking. Remember what you think about is what you bring about. Therefore, if you desire more time to spend with your family or picking up a new hobby then you mustTHINK about it first and then make the necessary shifts so that you can make room for what you truly desire.
